Julie Fagan, CCM is Director of Restaurant Operations with the University of Delaware's Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Program. Her specialties include food and beverage operations, wine education and country club management. Julie teaches courses in Quantity Food Production and the Senior Capstone Course, which is a structured experience in a hospitality environment. As a 1996 graduate from the HRIM Program, she was recruited by the DuPont Country Club and spent four years at the DCC in various capacities as Membership Sales Manager, Special Events Coordinator, Banquet Supervisor, and Dining Room Manager. In 1999, Julie moved to West Chester, Pennsylvania as Club Manager for Penn Oaks Golf Club. Upon completion of a new private club in Greenville, Delaware, Julie was recruited to Fieldstone Golf Club as Club Manager to successfully open a premier country club in Delaware . Three years later, she was recruited as Director of Operations/Instructor at the University of Delaware's student operated restaurant, Vita Nova, in Newark, Delaware.
In 2002, Julie received her CCM (Certified Club Manager) designation from the Club Manager's Association of America and has been actively involved on local boards throughout her career. She is a member of the CMAA Delaware Chapter and CMAA International Wine Society, and has participated as a member of the Board of Governors for CMAA's Delaware Chapter as Student Liaison, Executive Career Services, Education Chair, Secretary/Membership, and Vice President.
Julie is currently pursuing her Masters at the University of Delaware and has been actively involved with student programs since her days as a student. She was a member of the Club Manager's Association student chapter and is currently serving on the Hospitality Alumni Association at the University of Delaware. |
